Using intraregional data from 10 lakes in the West Kitikmeot area of Nunavut, Canada, we found that [Hg] varied significantly among species and life history types. At a standardized fork length of 500 mm, lake trout had significantly higher [Hg] (mean 0.17 mu g/g wet wt) than Arctic char (0.09 mu g). Anadromous and resident Arctic char had significantly lower [Hg] (each 0.04 mu g/g) than landlocked Arctic char (0.19 mu g/g). We conclude that the internet is an important source of medical information about rhinoplasty for patients, but it does not contain enough data. It plays an essential part, particularly for those patients having the operation for aesthetic reasons, in contrast to those having post-traumatic correction. Results Examination of nasal biopsies revealed HBD1-3 expression at gene level as well as at protein level in all samples tested. HBD1 and HBD3 messenger RNA (mRNA) levels were downregulated in SAR patients compared to healthy individuals. All HBDs were found in NAL fluids. SAR patients having completed 3 years of ASIT displayed higher levels of HBD1 and HBD2 than before treatment, whereas levels of HBD3 were unaffected. Conclusion The present study demonstrates an upregulation of HBD1 and HBD2 in SAR patients after completion of ASIT.
